The Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce, Seattle endeavors to facilitate business opportunities, trade, commerce, and investment between the Northwest Region in the USA and Sweden. The goal is to create business opportunities through awareness and dissemination of current and future trends within, but not limited to, industries prominent in the Northwest Region such as Sustainable Development, ICT and Healthcare. The goal is to be the preferred business partner and trade organization in terms of facilitating trade between Sweden and the Northwest Region.

The Swedish Club is the home for the Nordic community in the greater Seattle area. Our jewel of an iconic, mid-century modern building with its breath-taking view of Lake Union serves as the center of Nordic activities in the Northwest, as well as offering Nordic-inspired food and beverages. Founded in 1892, the Swedish Club holds tight to its reputation as part of “old Seattle.” Our members are not only Swedes and other Scandinavians, but people of many cultural backgrounds.

SWEA Seattle is part of an international network of Swedish-speaking women. The Seattle chapter was founded in 1990 and has about 110 members today. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and professions and range in age from 18 to 80+. As part of our fundraising, we organize events for our members about once per month. Several of our events celebrate our Swedish holidays and traditions, and others are networking opportunities or social events. Other ways we stay in touch is through this website and through our membership magazine, SWEA Bladet.

The National Nordic Museum, established in 1979 in Seattle, Washington, shares Nordic culture, values, and ideas with people of all ages and backgrounds to create connections, generate dialogue, and inspire new perspectives. Each year, the Museum presents more than six special exhibitions and over 200 programs that foster discovery and understanding of different cultures, generate dialogue, and inspire new perspectives.
The Museum is a convener of communities, annually reaching a broad audience through creative programming and compelling exhibitions. The Museum is grounded in the values of openness, trust, innovation, sustainability, and compassion; values that are represented throughout the institution’s exhibitions and programs. A center for Nordic culture in the Unites States, the Museum was designated as the National Nordic Museum by an Act of Congress in 2019.

Accredited teachers Lena Powers and Stina Cowan founded the Swedish School Association in Seattle in the summer of 1998. The school offers complementary Swedish education according to the Swedish Board of Education’s curriculum to children who speak Swedish. All education takes place at The Swedish Club in Seattle once a week for 2.5 hours.

This non-audition community choir comprises the Svea Male Chorus, founded in 1906, and the Swedish Women’s Chorus of Seattle, founded in 1952. As part of the American Union of Swedish Singers, our mission is to keep the tradition of Swedish choral music vibrant in Seattle. Our repertoire includes contemporary Swedish choral music, traditional and folk songs, sacred and secular music, and even some pop music. We rehearse at the Swedish Club on Tuesday nights (currently rehearsing remotely only). Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be Swedish or speak Swedish to become a member of this warm and hearty group – just have an interest in Swedish musical culture! The Seattle Lilla Spelmanslag is a group of outstanding young musicians who perform music from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The group is an open group, though we require a certain level of experience on the participant’s instrument.
